I used to suffer from lower back pain some years ago. I could barely bend forward to tie my shoelaces and I even had to hold my sneezes in to contain the pain. At that time, I had also gone through a divorce and was in financial lack. I felt like I was in a deep pit of despair.

Then, I read Pastor Prince’s daily devotional, You Can’t Keep A Man With God’s Favor Down. It told the story of Joseph in the Bible—how he went “from the pit to the palace” because of God’s presence and favor in his life.

The devotional also reminded me of Genesis 39:2 that says, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man.” I claimed this verse by replacing “Joseph” with my name. I also meditated on and confessed, “As Jesus is, so am I in this world” (see 1 John 4:17) and “I am a branch to His vine” (see John 15:5).

I partook of the Holy Communion regularly and believed that my sickness and poverty had already been borne on the cross. I also spoke positive words into my situation after learning from Proverbs 18:21 that our words carry power.

A year later, my back pain went away completely and I have remained pain-free for more than five years now. I believe the Holy Spirit in me bore witness to God’s healing promise in Isaiah 53:5 and made me whole.

I also became a leading producer in my field of work within three years after I put the Lord Jesus in the center of my business and believed He would surely set me on high. Today, I give tithes to my church without hesitation because I know Jesus is the source of my promotion and increase.

Learning the gospel truth has freed me from sickness and lack. Indeed, as I continually seek the kingdom of God and His gift of righteousness, I can live a fear-free life that is full of His unceasing grace.
